Okay y’all… this was the DREAMIEST engagement session.
Allisen + Brett are getting married in Waco this October (which I cannot wait for), and since their wedding will be after sunset, I thought it would be fun to do the opposite for their engagement session and meet at sunrise!
They knew from the start that they wanted their engagement photos to feel like them—natural, laid-back, and comfortable. They weren’t looking for anything over the top. Just tall grass, beautiful light, and photos that felt genuine and romantic. Honestly, that’s my favorite kind of engagement session!
Sunrise was at 6:45, so we met just before then on the outskirts of Waco, Texas. When I tell you we were greeted with the prettiest fog… I mean it. The sun started peeking through the fog as it rolled across the field, and as the morning went on, the light somehow got even better. It felt so dreamy and peaceful, and it made for the most beautiful backdrop for their Waco engagement photos.
One of my favorite things about this session is that it was their first photoshoot together. However, these two slipped right into being themselves, which is exactly what I want for every couple I photograph.
As a Waco wedding photographer, I always tell my couples that the best engagement sessions aren’t about perfectly posed photos or having the “most aesthetic” location. They’re about creating space to slow down, be together, and document this season before the wedding day arrives. That’s exactly what this morning felt like.
Allisen + Brett, thank you for waking up before the sun, trusting me, and wandering through a foggy field with me. October can’t get here soon enough!!
If you’re looking for a Waco engagement photographer or planning engagement photos anywhere in Central Texas, I’d love to help create something that feels true to you.
